The Tamils in the East kick Prabhakaran

The Eastern Province, which was under the fascist murderous dictatorship of Prabhakaran, and where the majority are Tamil, have taught Prabhakaran a resounding lesson by voting for a group which was once an integral part of the LTTE terrorist outfit.

The liberated Eastern Province voted for the first time in 20 years to elect their political leaders in the Provincial Council. The election was held on 10.05.2008, and it was a resounding victory for H.E. the President, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his group led by a former Tamil Tiger child soldier, Pillayan, who fought with the army to liberate the Eastern Province from the clutches of Prabhakaran. The Eastern Province voted the Pillayan-backed group to power, kicking Prabhakaran and all of his other outfits who declare him as the sole representative of the Tamil people.

This video clip shows the manner in which foreign diplomats, including Italy’s Ambassador in Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Pio Mariani and other Ambassadors were greeted by the LTTE when they visited Batticaloa, on a path-finding mission in the year 2007, when the East was under the clutches of Prabhakaran. They were greeted with mortar attacks on the convoy.

Despite the threats by the LTTE, causing the death of many civilians by planting detonation bombs at Ampara, nearly 51% of the people came and voted for Karuna’s protégé, Pillayan. This was a resounding victory for the Tamil people who were crushed and oppressed by Prabhakaran.
